She is none other than Ekta Kapoor, daughter of Jeetendra. Apparently, Ekta has been coming up with movies like ‘Love, Sex Aur Dhokha’ ‘Raagini MMS’ and the recent ‘The Dirty Picture’. All these films made huge profits at the box office. And now, it is heard that Ekta is continuing her sexual affairs.

News from Mumbai is that Ekta has decided to come up with a new movie and this would revolve around the yesteryear actress Mandakini and her affair with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. If one can recall, Mandakini created a sensation by revealing her well endowed assets in the film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. As for Ekta, except selling sex and making money, nothing else seems to enter her head.

'Amma' mobile phone scheme

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Monday announced an 'Amma' mobile phone scheme to help women Self-Help Group (SHG) trainers supervise work, in line with her regime's popular 'Amma' brand of welfare initiatives.

Under the scheme, "computerised mobile phones" loaded with special Tamil software would be provided to 20,000 self-help group (SHG) trainers in the first phase at a cost of Rs 15 crore, Jayalalithaa told the state Assembly.

This is the latest in the Amma brand schemes. The Jayalalithaa government had previously launched 'Amma Canteens' which offer low-cost food, 'Amma Mineral Water' which costs Rs 10 a bottle, and 'Amma Pharmacies' where medicines are sold at lower rates, among others.

"I am very happy to announce that the government headed by me would give Amma mobile phones to 20,000 social SHG trainers in the first phase, at a cost of Rs 15 crore," Jayalalithaa, who is fondly called as 'Amma' by her followers, said in a suo motu statement in the House.

The SHGs maintain several registers, including those related to meetings, payment of subscription, savings, in-group loans and repayment.

"In order to supervise their (SHG) work on uploading data in registers, a special software in Tamil language will be created and computerised mobile phones will be provided (to trainers) under the Amma Kaipesi Thittam," she said amid loud thumping of desks by the ruling party legislators.
She said SHGs were created by her regime in 1991 for the social and economic empowerment of women and eradication of poverty and they have now grown into a huge force.

"Today, 6.08 lakh Women Self Help Groups function with 92 lakh members," she said.
The SHG trainers supervise the SHGs and they are experienced workers who support setting up and training new groups, Jayalalithaa added.

Water Flows on Mars Today, NASA Announces

The Red Planet is wet, scientists announced today. New evidence from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) confirms that suspicious dark streaks on Mars that appear and disappear with the seasons are created by flowing liquid water. The streaks are made by salty water that runs down steep hills during warm months, when temperatures are above –23 degrees Celsius, and freezes during colder times.

The intriguing streaks, called recurring slope lineae, were first spotted in 2010 in images from the MRO’s HiRISE (High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) camera. Scientists have long suspected that the streaks marked the location of liquid water. Now researchers have found the chemical signatures of hydrated minerals on these slopes, confirming that explanation. The new evidence also comes from the MRO via CRISM, its Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars, which separates light into its constituent wavelengths to reveal the chemicals present on the Martian surface. The instrument saw the signatures of magnesium perchlorate, magnesium chlorate and sodium perchlorate—all hydrated salts that require water to form and also contain it. The chemicals appear in the summer, when the dark streaks are visible, and disappear along with the features when temperatures drop. “This is the best evidence of liquid water on Mars in the present day,” says Georgia Institute of Technology scientist James Wray, co-author of a paper reporting the data published today in Nature Geoscience. “The fact that these chemicals are sitting on these flows and concentrated there and have water means there’s really no way that water wasn’t involved.” (Scientific American is part of Nature Publishing Group.)
