The Indian Adminstrative Services is special as it works internally for the smooth functioning of law and order without any hinderance. Right from the conception of the Indian constitution, IAS as a career has been a much preferred option for the Indian youth of all-time. Even today, jobs under IAS are considered with utmost esteem. This is the prime reason why youth are attracted to career of an IAS officer. Every year lakhs of aspirants from each corner of India apply for admission into IAS.

However getting into IAS is not easy, infact you have to earn an IAS. The IAS 2015 exam is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this exam serves as a common aptitude test for other civil services like IFS, IPS, Group A and Group B central services. Needless to say, it is one of the toughest exams that probably requires more than one attempt to achieve success.

IAS 2015 Eligibility:-

Mimum Educational Qualifications:-

a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2015.
c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply.
d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam.

Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

Age Relaxation:-

(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.


IAS Registration / Application Form
IAS 2015 Online Application Form/ Registration:-
01. You can apply for IAS either online or offline. 
02. If you are interested in applying offline then you need to download the application form from UPSC official websitewww.upsconline.nic.in.
03.IAS Application Form consists of two stages namely a) registration part-I b) registration part-II
04. After the submission of personal details you will be asked to print the SBI bank challan on A4 size paper.
05. The printed pay slip needs to be used for payment of application fee.
06. In offline mode of application, the completed IAS 2015 application form is to be sent to the mentioned address before the last date for form submission.

UPSC Exam 2015 Dates


The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.

(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions).
(ii) The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. However, questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level will be tested through passages from English Language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.


Each paper will be of two hours duration

Paper-A (One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution). - 300 Marks

Paper-B English - 300 Marks

Paper-I Essay - 250 Marks

Paper-II General Studies-I - 250 Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society)

Paper-III General Studies -II - 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations)

Paper-IV General Studies -III - 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management)

Paper-V General Studies -IV - 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude)

Paper-VI Optional Subject - Paper 1 - 250 Marks

Paper-VII Optional Subject - Paper 2 - 250 Marks

Sub Total (Written test) - 1750 Marks

Personality Test - 275 Marks


Grand Total - 2025 Marks



Candidates may choose any one of the optional subjects for Main Examination:-

The question papers for the examination will be of conventional (essay) type.

Each paper will be of three hours duration.

The question papers (other than the literature of language papers) will be set in Hindi and English only.

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS:-


Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
